Amelia Earhart could profoundly be named one of the most influential women of the early 1900’s. With the very little time she had, she became a well-known ambitious role model to women all around the world. Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897. As a little girl she was faced some challenges, her father struggled from alcoholism, which caused her mother to leave her father and take Amelia and her sister with her. She graduated while living in Chicago, and went to a college in Philadelphia known as the Ogontz school. This was the first time she saw an amputee, because of that she left school to become a volunteer nurse until the war had ended. It wasn’t until she’d moved back with her parents now living in California, that she had gone on her first airplane ride at an air show in 1920, in her biography, Amelia Earhart Biography, Amelia declared “As soon as we left the ground,” she said, “I knew I had to fly.”

She began to partake in lessons, Earhart was taught by Neta Snook at California’s Kinner Field. Then a year later, she got her license from the NAA.
